In fact, it is Pierre Antoine Poiteau, who was in Saint Domingue, now Haiti, between 1796 and 1800 https://plants.jstor.org/stable/10.5555/al.ap.person.bm000006608 The plant is also known as Cojoba filipes (Vent) http://sweetgum.nybg.org/science/world-flora/monographs-details/?irn=16868 Poiteau also collected in Dominican Republic in Santo Domingo-(HUH)- NC If the number 1803 refers to the specimen number, Poiteau collected number 1802 in the Dominican Republic - see https://kiki.huh.harvard.edu/databases/specimen_search.php?start=1&cltr=P.+A.+Poiteau The location is Santo Domingo but there are many places called Santo Domingo. The back of the label on the left hand side has Plants of Honduras printed on it. I think might reveal the location but I can't understand what they are referring to - http://sweetgum.nybg.org/science/projects/barneby/narratives/?irn=3570 Researching the Dr's name comes up with research done in the Dominican and Virgin Islands
