List of Egressions.
1885-6.

Services rendered and material sent out by the Department of Mollusks and Quaternary Invertebrate Paleontology during the fiscal year 1885-6. (Specimens sent out are, 1. for educational purposes, to teachers, to isolated students, etc. 2. in return or exchange for material received for the Museum from collectors; 3. for the promotion of science by enabling special students to compare and study forms otherwise inaccessible to them.

Agassiz, Prof. Alexander. Cambridge, Mass. 
About 250 species and a much larger number of specimens of deep sea Pelecypod mollusks, dredged by U.S.S. Blake, under the direction of Prof. Agassiz; determined, classified, and described. This work, concluded with the current year has in reality occupied much of the curator's leisure for the last seven years, and the results are believed to be important for science.

Boyce, S.E.  Santa Barbara, California. 21 species, 47 specimens sent in return for economic mollusks received by the Museum. June 10, 1886.

Bryan O.N.   Marshall Hall. Maryland. 50 species, about 150 specimens shells, furnished in exchange Oct. 10, 1885.
