Transcription Notes:
mandc: The old name "Woods Holl" is considered by some historians of Cape Cod to be a relic of when the Norse peoples visited the coast. "Holl," supposed to be the Norse word for "hill," is found in the old records. The combined letters a and e (called and ash) can be typed on an Apple by holding down Option key and pressing the comma key. (or holding down the a key until a list of accent marks appears from which to chose, on of which is æ.)
