second year outfit. Wentz will mix in the field events and will probably form a part of the relay combination. Lancaster is the best bet for the 440 number while Rowley will go in the 100 and 220. Blower will start in the middle distance races.

Little is known about the strength of the freshman crew, as the first year men are ineligible to perform on the varsity and so have not been working out with Coach Sefton's proteges. However the yearlings have some athletes who are said to be equal to the best in the university. Sigman, who was a star dash man and hurdler at Andover Academy before he came to Akron, U., is one of the best of the freshies. Hilbish and Thornberry are the other first year lads who are doped to show well in Friday afternoon's milling.

Trio of Stars

Art Knowlton, Swigart, and Bill Pfahl form a trio of junior tracksters who are bound to make trouble for the other class team. The seniors have Art Haley, Bob Purdy, and Chic Whalen, all of the varsity squad.

A silver cup and a number of medals are the trophies for which the inter-class athletes will battle. The goblet will go to the team that cops the meet, a gold medal will be awarded to the tracksters who run up the highest individual score, and silver and bronze medals will be given to the winners of places in the different events.
