Dear Mrs. Junkin:

Your letter came a long way to reach me, as you can see, but I'm certainly glad it did. And I offer my apologies for being so long about answering it: I have been away from home a good deal this spring.

I was extremely interested to read all the enclosures you sent. I have the distinct impression your own life would make a fascinating book. If you thought well of my La Guardia biography, I am especially pleased; I only wish we had met sooner so that I could have talked to you about him and the Bellancas.

In any case, I send you my sincere appreciation for taking the time to write to me.

Yours,
Lawrence Elliott
