Above -- Mrs. Emmert Christopher Steuart, Jr., formerly Miss Meredith Todd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Carroll Todd of Forty-fourth Street. Mr. and Mrs. Steuart will make their home in Montreal. 

the Brooks School in Andover, Massachusetts, but the others will remain abroad with Mrs. Amussen who expects to be away for two years. Mrs. Harold Russel of Brookline, Massachusetts, was the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Amussen, for two weeks prior to her sailing.

- Mrs. Charles T. Penn of Hawthorne Street was a recent hostess at luncheon and bridge at Congressional Country Club when her guests were Mrs. Lloyd Sutton, Mrs. J.W. Jacobs, Mrs. Howard G. Nichols, Mrs. Arthur W. Henderson, Mrs. Norman J. Morrison, Mrs. M.B. Swanson, Mrs. B.T. Heflin, Mrs. William F. Stein, Mrs. Warren D. Brush, Mrs. A.E. Gottshall and Mrs. Lewis L. Annis.

- Dr. and Mrs. Wesley M. Gewehr of Lowell Street, went to Granville, Ohio., early in June to attend the commencement exercises of Dennison University, where the former was professor history before coming to Washington. Following their return Dr. Gewehr went to New Brunswick, New Jersey, where he is conducting a course in history at Rutgers College.

- The marriage of Miss Aubrey Clay Danilson, daughter of Mr. Harry Garfield Danilson and Mrs. Danilson, to Mr. William Alfred Gawler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Gawler of Hawthorne Street, took place on June 10th at St. Paul's Episcopal Church near Washington Circle, where the groom's parents were married. The Reverend Calvert E. Buck officiated at the ceremony. Because of the imminent transfer of the bride's father the wedding was planned with very little notice. Due to the impossibility of Mr. Danilson's being present to give his daughter in marriage, Mr. Harry T. Wilder performed that service. The bride was gowned in pink mousseline-de-soie with blue accessories, a blue hat and carried an old-fashioned lace bouquet of spring flowers. Her only attendant was Miss Catherine Wilder of Washington, who was dressed in peace lace with blue sash, the gown being fashioned with close lines to the knees, with fullness from there to the floor. Her hat of peach colored horse-hair was trimmed with peach and blue ribbons and she carried a bouquet of spring flowers. The best man was Mr. Wesley Hanford of Washington. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Parish Room of the church when the young couple was assisted in receiving by the bride's mother, who wore a gown of red chiffon with a large black hat and
