CLUB MEMBERS IN FASHION SHOW
The fashion show given at the community club on April 13th was one of the most successful Open House parties given this year and the feminine residents of the community are to be congratulated for the very professional manner in which they displayed the new spring and summer creations.
Miss Mary Whiteman, stylist for Frank R. Jelleff, Inc., who provided the gowns, directed the show and the very clever one act play which preceded it. Among the outstanding collection of frocks were those pictured on this page, the upper, a street costume worn by Mrs. Barnaby, wife of Lieut. Commander Ralph S. Barnaby and the lower, a dinner dress worn by Mrs.Bentley, wife of Dr.John E. Bentley.
As "Madame Lottie," manager of Madam Celeste's French Gown Salon, Mrs.Franklin D. Jones held the attention of her audience during the short play, complaining in ordinary English about her "tired feet," between telephone calls with her distinguished clientele, when she gave a perfect impersonation of the French woman having some difficulty with the English language. The two young customers who were anxious to buy "Paris Labels" for their homemade frocks were played by Miss Dorothy Saunders and Miss Caroline Lyle.
Those making up the procession of models included Mrs.Charles H. Ruth, Mrs.John E. Bentley, Ralph Barnaby, Mrs.Howard G. Nichols, Mrs.John H. Yates, Mrs.Margaret R. Hillegeist, Mrs. Thomas De Lash-

mutt, Miss Dolly Sharpe, Miss Lois Webb, Miss Ellen Coward, Miss Dorothy Howell and Miss Doris Heaton.
The style show, given by the house of "Celeste" for its patrons (the audience being numbered among the patrons!)was concluded with a wedding party. Mrs.Thomas De Lashmutt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I.E. Shoemaker was a very radiant bride, in a gown of satin and lace with a veil of lace. The members of her wedding party included Miss Dolly Sharpe, Miss Dorothy Howell and Miss Lois Webb. The flowers carried by the bride and her attendants were the generous contribution of Blackistone.
Hostesses for the evening were Mrs.Henry D. Ralph, Mrs.Earle W. Wallick, Mrs.Edward R. Walton, Jr., and Mrs. Stephen C. Hopking. Miss Whiteman was assisted in arranging and directing the program by Mrs.John M. Waters.
The community club takes this opportunity to express its appreciation to the firm of Frank R. Jelleff for providing the successful and entertaining program.

BOARD PURCHASES FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
Heretofore the community club has been without equipment to extinguish small fires which might occur with the building so frequently in use. Although no fires have occurred, the Board of Governors at its monthly meeting in May authorized the purchase of three soda and acid fire extinguishers which will be placed in easily accessible spots in the building.
