ELMIRA STAR - GAZETTE
ELMIRA, N.Y.

July 19, 1931

Hrs. R. S. Barnaby,
1436 Lowell St., N. W.,
Washington, D.C.

My Dear Mrs. Barnaby:

It was, indeed, a pleasure to receive your interesting letter and I look forward with utmost pleasure to seeing you during the coming soaring contest. The brief visits we had during last year's event are still held in happy memory.

Have been looking into that room question for you and within a day or two will supply two or three addresses, in pleasing residential sections, of individuals and homes I will recommend. Understand rates here now are reduced, due to the depression, and am sure you will find your plan giving greater satisfaction than in remaining at the hotel.

Yes, I saw your article in the June Air Service issue and enjoyed it greatly. Someone, name unknown, mailed it to me and someone, name also unknown, stole it almost as soon as it was received. Is it possible for me to secure another copy?

Am pleased to know that you [[strikethrough]] r [/strikethrough]] are going to "cover" the Elmira meet from your personal viewpoint. Have you endeavored to secure special assignments from Washington or other newspapers? You might combine business with pleasure and make some money.

Please give my kindest regards to Lieut. Barnaby and ask him to send me, if at all possible, his picture and brief history, with particular reference to gliding. If you will enclose your own picture, and brief history, will also be much pleased. The pictures will be returned uninjured.

Anticipating a "reunion" next month, I beg to remain,

Sincerely yours,
Chas Malkewp
