To Be A Nurse

Along the path that
The Master trod
To soothe the achings
Of Human pain,
To faithfully serve
For little gain

To lovingly do
A kindly deed
A cup of water
To one in Need

A gentle hand
On a fevered brow
A word to cheer
The Living NOW

To teach the Soul
Through its body woe
Ah this is the Way
The Lord would go.

On white-capped girls
In dresses of blue
The great physician
Is working thru you.

World War 11
To the Red Cross Nurses
Licensed Practical Nurses
after thousands of hours
WAR Time duty.
