"Sure enough, there was a big sign.  It read Lord Nelson Hotel.  I was planning to stay at the Lord Nelson that night, so I knew we were home safely.  I took over then and brought the plane down near that bridge on the Hudson River.  We came down near the open touring car.  Once we landed, Mrs. R. invited me to the cottage for dinner.  We also had a couple of drinks together and swapped flying yarns."
In the years that followed, Fogg and Eleanor Roosevelt made several flying trips around the nation to attend seaplane dock dedications.  "She only took over the controls once or twice after that, and never for too long," said the old barnstormer.  "I guess that round trip to Auburn was the last serious flying Eleanor Roosevelt ever did."
And he added: "In a way, it's a shame F.D.R. made Eleanor stop taking flying lessons from Amelia Earhart.  She would have been a great woman pilot.  Then again, maybe F.D.R. was right.  Look what happened to Amelia Earhart!"
