NEW MODEL DELUXE SHIP WILL BE BUILT IN PLANT OF ADVANCE AIRCRAFT CO.
Many Improvements Made Over 1926 Models-Waco Goes Through Hard Government Test
The Advance Aircraft company is announcing a new DeLuxe Model 10 Waco plane to be placed upon the market this spring.
In telling of the features in the new plane C. J. Brukner, manager of the company, stressed the changes made in the plane to add to its beauty and the comfort of the passengers. He de-clared that the industry has reached a point now where the purchasers are seeking beauty and comfort as well as reliability.
It was emphasized by Mr. Brukner that there is no change in the basic principles underlying the construction of the Waco planes but that the changes made in the DeLuxe model are to add to the safety of operation and to increase the attractiveness of the plane.
One of the biggest changes in the new plane over the Model Nine is in the landing gear. Oil shock absorbers have been installed which take up the bumping of the plane. Mr. Brukner states that this feature is entirely new in the manufacture of airplanes.
The cowling of the new plane is stamped instead of handmade as here-tofore, making a much neater looking job. The cockpits have been enlarged and the one side cut down so that passengers can enter the plane as easily as an automobile.
A number of new features have been added to the control mechanism of the DeLuxe model which add greatly to the margin of safety in flying the Waco, already one of the safest ships on the market, Mr. Brukner stated.
The circular sent to the trade announcing the new plane also gives the results of recent government tests undergone by the Troy-built planes.
A Waco ship stood every test required by the government and sus-tained a factor of safety of nine in the test of the ability of the plane to withstand abusive stunting, when the government requirement is but 6.5.
Mr. Brukner stated that the model plane built last year will continue to be manufactured although he antici-pates that the new model will make up the bulk of the business done this year.
He also stated that the Advance company expects to get into production upon the new plane within three weeks.
The outlook for business this sea-son, Mr. Brukner stated, is even bet-ter than it was last year when the company built and delivered more than 175 planes. This record is expected to be exceeded this year as many of the dealers have already booked a number of orders.

Airplanes are no longer a luxury but are a staple product. Troy in a measure from an industrial standpoint lost out when horse drawn vehicles were displaced by motor vehicles. It now has an excellent opportunity to be in the forefront of the coming industry which while it will probably not displace highway motor transportation will become an industry of equal importance. May Trojans realize this opportunity and continue to support this industry of the future.

WACO PLANE IS GIVEN TRY-OUT FOR AIR MAIL-
Miniature Ship Is First to Take Route-Service Will Be Reality Tomorrow-
Cleveland, April 20- (United States)
-After a test flight over the route, announcement was made today that the Cleveland, Youngstown and Pittsburgh air mail service will become a reality tomorrow.
While the huge monoplane, tuned up late yesterday for its flight to Detroit, and the Chicago mail plane took off through the dust of the airport fly-ing field, a dimunitive airship hopped over the airport hangars and skidded to a jaunty stop, after being in the air an hour and a quarter.
Three men jumped out. The pilot, K. F. Lovejoy, held up a mail sack. This was the cursory ceremony which marked the introduction of the new service.
Lovejoy left Pittsburgh at 3 o'clock. The plane spent 15 minutes in Youngstown.
The first ship to try the route was "Miss McKeesport." It is a Waco plane, so trim and small it almost would pass under a wing of the big monoplane.
The first official flight of the new service will begin at 12:15 p. m. Thurs-day. It will stop at Youngstown and is due at McKeesport, Pa., suburb of Pittsburgh, at 1:45 p. m.
