Jacoby and nine alleged members of the "Purple Gang" made a surprise move this morning by retiring their case without calling any witnesses. M. PLANTS [[Box]] Air Olympics Program The afternoon program for the Air-Olympics at the Ford airport today is as follows: 3:00 P. M. Air Circus A squadrom of pursuit [[?]] of Thomas G. Lamphley will give [[?]] will fly about 50 feet apart executing the [[?]] maneuvers in military aeronautics. The pursuit planes are small machines powered by 650 horsepower engines and attain a speed of about 200 miles an hour in their maneuvers. Their pilots are the pick of the Army Air Corps. 3:30 P.M.-Edward J.Hill, winner of the last international balloon race, will ascend in the pilot balloon preparatory to the start of the 17th annual race for the Gordon Bennett Trophy. Hill's flight is to be made to indicate the air conditions to the racers who will follow him. 4:0 P.M.-The first of the contest balloons will take off. Eleven others, representing Germany, United States, Denmark, France, Switzerland, Belgium, and Argentina will follow at five-minute intervals.
