Accessions during the year.

The number of accessions during the year [[strikethrough]] was 87 against 46 the year previous. But [[/strikethrough]] has been 87. In the previous year the number was 46. The amount of material [[strikethrough]] comprised [[/strikethrough]] received in [[strikethrough]] the whole series was  [[/strikethrough]] toto  during the year is, however, considerably less than [[strikethrough]] in 1888-89 [[/strikethrough]] last year, since [[strikethrough]] that year [[/strikethrough]] in 1889 were included the collections made by the Albatross on her voyage from Norfolk, Va. to San Francisco, which, under one accession-number, included a multitude of specimens.
