Dear Doris:

I and mamma have been looking after your animals pretty well. The worst to feed are the newts, owing to the dry weather. I have been going over to Allard's to get worms, as we have none. Once when I went there no one was home except the dogs, and the sausage dog went at me so savagely that I was glad to get out whole without any worms. But after the rain this afternoon & evening there ought to be a supply of worms.

here, rather than to camp. So you will get all your things when you come home.

I was looking up the road we take to your camp over Barber's map. Did you go out thru Marlboro? I think we shall altho' that is not the nearest way. We may not come for very long, as we shall go on for a little trip later probably. You probably will prefer to stay on overnight and come up the next day.

Do be careful about ticks. I hope you have a happy birthday
