Requests that the inner partitions of certain houses in Lincoln Tenements be taken out, and such repairs made as may be necessary to fit it for school purposes.

This Bureau has placed at the Cor of 12th and D Sts. - two blocks away a Colored School building with four (4) good plastered rooms, where the Trustees of colored public schools now have one (1) school. As this building is so near I think it might accommodate all from the Gov't buildings & that the Trustees would then provide necessary teachers. 

If that building is not thought convenient enough & a separate school building cannot be erected, then I recommend that partitions be removed & repairs made at the discretion of Mr. Cole, so as to furnish needed school rooms, though the walls of the rooms are very low & I do not see how they can be well fitted for either school or church purposes. I have tables desks, & stoves with which the rooms can be furnished
