Washington. D.C. July. 21. 1869. Brig. Gen. H.M. Whittlesey, General, I would respectfully request the following repairs on "Island" and "Lincoln" Tenement Buildings. 1st The entry ways and stairways of Island Tenements, (except Nos. 212 and 318 Delaware Ave) to be wainscoted, painted and the plastering patched where needed. 2nd The out buildings and fences of same to be whitewashed. 3d. Hooks and staples to be furnished for all outside doors at Lincoln Tenements. - (These can be put on by the watchmen.) Very Resply, etc John A. Cole Agent Educational Funds.
