Dear Doris:

Dad has gone off to Beltsville, the old cat has curled up in his chair for a long mornings nap, and I have finished tidying up the house and fed the birds, and still have a few minutes before I join the Baptists. Did I ever tell you the lawyer's full name? I only just learnt it in fact, - it is Mr. Golden Dagger! He is such a staid middle aged Baptist too with fishy ale eyes.

Yesterday I hunted up a wonderful office bldg. just off 16th St housing the Remington Band office supply company, and presented to them a small typewriter ribbon coupon book that I acquired in 1917. I hadn't any hope of it being worth anything, but I said it was an old book I had and had forgotten all about, as I had. And they promptly handed out a ribbon for me, saying it was still good. I have 11 more ribbons coming to me now. I fear if they knew it was 30 years old I might have to pay more, for I doubt if ribbons cost that little now, tho I have no idea what the old price was.

On the way back I was waiting for a car in front of the Treasury when someone affectionately grabbed my arm and I looked up to see of all persons, - Schammel. He had just arrived from Kansas and I was his first old acquaintance, I guess, for he stood holding my hand like a long lost brother. His tenants are giving him trouble, so he is back for a while.

What do your history people think of present day Greece - Turkey interference plans or don't they discuss any modern problems? I wish I knew what is best. The strong tendency of America to leave the rest of the world alone may be a poor one. I don't know. Do they have any college evening discussions of such affairs?
