Dear Doris: We are just back from a turkey and pecan pie supper at the H&M here, and we thought of you. Very warm here, - 82° out doors tonight. We have been collecting all way. Dad has found a lot of plants he never saw before. We had a thunder shower and terrific down pour just before we reached here. The trees very colorful thru Va. but not a bit of change down here, just as in summer. Fields of cotton, many peanuts, and tobacco - here they take the leaves carefully off the tobacco stalk and leave the stalk & flower at the top. When cured (by smoke) the leaves are golden yellow,- so unlike our Md. barns.

Love, Mother
