Dear Doris!

Don't mention it to Grandma or Mrs B. if you go out to Stoughton that Marion is engaged to a Catholic. It is bad enough for [[strikethrough]] them [[/strikethrough]] Helen to know it without having it told all about among the folks. I don't know whether Helen will even tell her folks. She is pretty well cut up and she says Geoff feels a lot even worse about it. Marion is a little goose, - she has no conception of all the history she is involved in, that to this day is stronger than ever. This goes back and back in our very past. Helen has been too tolerant for Marion even to feel it from her, and the girl has never come up against the force and whole political texture of the web herself.

I met Mrs Weiss' sister today. She said Renee is not working on a job, but is taking this year to get her master's degree at G. W.

I have left the camera films and will send you some when they arrive and then you can forward them to Grandma. She loves to look at pictures over and over again.

Now I must get the house in shape and our bags packed for we start early tomorrow morning. We shall probably make Southport our head quarters for 2 nights if we can find accomodations there. Will send you cards till we return.

Love
Mother.
