Dear folks,

Most grevious are the thinges which have befallen me since last I did write. Yesterday was indeed unfortunate. I was called before the Board of Hall Presidents on account of a misdeed with which you are already familiar, namely, my failure to ask permission or sign out on last Friday night. It was considered a most awful sin, and I was assigned a whole week of social pro--upstairs by eight p m. Because--I forgot to think of asking or signing, as I had made plain to my inquisitors, and should have know better; just let half the college indulge in forgetfulness, spoke the solemn president Sue Ehrentheil, as see what would happen. I was a test case, and they were most grave and weighty. I could have burst out laughing, and indeed my appearance was not all respectful: I had forgotten about the whole meeting until almost five, and came with my wet hair in a towel, wearing gym shoes. Well, this all wouldn't be so bad if it weren't that it means missing both "Man and Superman" and Henry Wallace. Let's see; rest of ad news. I forgot to hand in my study card yesterday. Fine--five dollars. I will save something by not being able to go to the shows, two dollars forty to be exact, that is, if I can get rid of the tickets.

Yes, besides typewriter ribbon I will need vitamin B.

Thanks for all the news, I haven't time to write more. Govt is proving to have much reading as History per week, and much more thought. I am behind in everything, these nights of forced homing will come in handy.

It was really wonderful this morning. I was supposed to serve breakfast at Bertram. Nobody else came--and there usually from four to five girls. So half of Saville pitched in, including the house president, who is a very nice girl.

Love,
Doris
