Dear Doris:

After 3 frosty nights mellow Indian summer weather has come again.  I went down with Dad to the Museum with my paraphernalia this morning and saw everyone again, but didn't stay long.  I went shopping and after ransacking all the shops from Kanns, Hechts, Lanburghs, in your style, I finally bought a dark brown rayon crepe at Lansburghs.  It is nice fitting [[sketch]] with a sort of pleated side wise peplum in front and little [[sketch]] on the shoulder and a heavy chain of some sort from that (I can remove these gew gaws if I wish later).  Anyhow it will be a change from the dark blue I have worn so many years, and not so radical in any way but what I can wear it for an equal number of years if necessary.  I tried on fall and winter coats with an eye for a light weight coat, but they were all awful things with great heavily padded shoulders that stuck out like boards.  I hated them, and shall forgo all such until the fashions change.

Last evening Fanny Greenwald's boy came out with his Aunt Celia and spent the evening.  Fanny was a little Polish
