Dear folks,

Got out here the fifth at 11:30 P.M.  I had thought I was to meet her in the afternoon; Koen took Louise & I shopping (he got a bathing suit for his sister; we ransacked Filene's basement) and afterwards through the Italian section of Boston.  How funny to see the crowd of Italian men playing cards (they really got excited, strewing ground sometimes with cards) behind [[strikethrough]] Po [[/strikethrough]] the new Paul Revere statue.  The barrels of briney olives, pickles, etc., the slabs of dried codfish, the sacks of meal all fascinated Louise.  She has a very factual mind and collected many
