Dear folks,

I'm sorry, but I can't be home Saturday. I will leave here Wednesday afternoon and that would mean only 2 days with Ina. As I told you before, there is a great possibility of her going to Washington after all. Dex didn't agree to stay at Clark. If you should stop off on our way up north it would be for an hour or so. Ina and I want to do things, and two days is barely enough time to get rested up from all our labors. By Wednesday I shall have a horrible charley horse, having cut the lawn, & half the field this morning. I sleep 8 hours at night and half the afternoons & haven't quite recovered yet from exam strain. She is just as busy. We want a little time off to relax & have fun. Of course I won't be able to see all N.Y. But I want to play tennis -- am taking my racket -- & explore woods & do lots of other things we planned. I don't think it's fair I should have to come home so soon. Louise is getting a chance to spend 2 weeks in the Montana mountains with Jean, and other people have similar plans. I've never had the opportunity to do anything like this before & want to take it. You said Sophy wasn't leaving until the 26th. Of course I
