Dear folks,
Long peaceful trip. Read books 9 of Milton, 3 more to go + at least 2 weeks ahead. All girls around we are now summing up their achievements (Back Bay). Edie has 10 pages to go, thinks her only hope for that phone call is to be in the middle of a hot bath tonight. Letitia Young + a couple of freshmen (other) are across the way ?rejoicing? in their books. In walk through train found Lillian Merrill + several others. Will go to Int. Center tonight, hasn't been tiring ride tho' very hot at first. Did it turn out hot, did you get a ride in? Have been to Int. Center. Very interesting discussion of middle east + India, etc. Met Indian sent to study improved food methods at M.I.T.: one of 4 sent from India. Will invite one out: a very nice chap. We talked about agriculture all evening. He is full of hope + enthusiasm to remake India: only economically, of course. "Just let us alone for 10 yrs" he says. Can take him out to Grandma's. This will have to get off tomorrow morning, too late to make difference now.
Love,
Doris
