Senator Wallace H. White, Jr. and Senator Walter F. George were indisposed.

Dr. Arthur H. Compton was unavoidably absent due to a conflicting meeting in St. Louis, Missouri, at Washington University of which he is Chancellor.

Mr. Frederic C. Walcott was unavoidably absent.

MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

The Secretary stated that the minutes of the last Annual Meeting held January 17, 1947, had been duly circulated among the members of the Board.

On motion, the minutes were approved.

CHANGES IN THE BOARD OF REGENTS

The Secretary stated that during the year the following changes had occurred in the personnel of the Board of Regents:

On January 27, 1947, the Speaker appointed the following members as House Regents: Mr. John M. Vorys, of Ohio; Mr. Samuel K. McConnell, Jr., of Pennsylvania; Mr. Clarence Cannon, of Missouri.

On July 26, 1947, Mr. Robert V. Fleming was appointed, by Joint Resolution, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. Frederic A. Delano, for the statutory term of six years. On November 12, Mr. Fleming was given interim appointment as a member of the Executive Committee and its Chairman, by the Chancellor, to serve until the next meeting when election by the Board would take place.

The following resolution on the retirement of Mr. Delano was passed unanimously:
