DISCUSSION OF REQUEST THAT SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION UNDERTAKE ADMINISTRATION OF THE AMERICAN TYPE CULTURE COLLECTION OF MICROORGANISMS

Because individuals are interested in having the administration of the so-called American Type Culture Collection transferred to the Smithsonian Institution, and since these individuals have written individually to members of the Board, the matter of accepting this collection was considered. On motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was

VOTED that the question of the assumption of the management of the "American Type Culture Collection of Microorganisms" by the Smithsonian Institution be left to the Executive Committee with power.

OTHER BUSINESS
The Secretary stated that unless there were questions, discussion of the many details of current scientific interest in the work of members of the staff would be presented in his next written report.

ADJOURNMENT
On motion, the meeting was adjourned at 12:20 p.m.
