The Commission also voted to recommend to the Board of Regents the re-election, for the usual four-year period, of the following members, whose terms expired in 1954:

Gilmore D. Clarke
Andrew Wyeth

and to recommend the election of Bartlett Hayes, Director of the Addison Gallery of American Art, Andover, Massachusetts, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of George H. Edgell, and the election of Stow Wengenroth, a lithographer of New York, New York, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Reginald Marsh.

On motion these recommendations were

VOTED approved.

The Secretary announced that officers of the Commission for the ensuing year had been elected as follows:

On motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was 

VOTED to approve the report of the Smithsonian Art Commission.
