That the Board hereby extends to Mr. Graf its hearty good wishes for his health and happiness in the years ahead and its felicitations on the outstanding accomplishments of a long and fruitful life.

Mr. Vorys asked for an explanation of the $457,060.68 Endowment figure listed under subsequent bequests, gifts, and other funds, partly deposited in the U. S. Treasury and partly invested in the Consolidated Fund, and Dr. Carmichael promised to furnish a complete explanation of this sum's relation to the Parent Fund.  Mr. Vorys also inquired about the Gift of $25,000 to the Freer Fund, and was told that this came from the Kevorkian Foundation.

On motion by Senator Anderson, seconded by Dr. Hunsaker, and carried the Report of the Executive Committee as presented was

VOTED approved for inclusion in the minutes, and the Regents expressed their thanks to the Chairman for his effective management of the funds, and the hope that he would carry on for the next year.

INCOME AND EXPENDITURE

On motion by Dr. Greenewalt, duly seconded and carried, it was VOTED that the income of the Institution for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1959, together with such allotments from the unobligated funds as are needed  to meet necessary expenses, be appropriated for the service of the Institution, to be expended by the Secretary, with the advice of the Executive Committee, with full discretion on the part of the Secretary as to items.

REPORT ON PROGRESS OF PLANS FOR MUSEUM OF HISTORY AND TECHNOLOGY BUILDING

The Secretary reported that since approval by the Board of the plans for this building, as recommended by the Joint Congressional Committee on Construction of a Building for a Museum of History and Technology for the Smithsonian Institution, much
