VOTED to instruct the Secretary to request a member of the Board of Regents in the Senate and a member in the House of Representatives to introduce a Joint Resolution to reappoint Dr. Jerome C. Hunsaker for another six-year term.

REPORT ON PREPLANNING STUDIES FOR THE NATIONAL AIR MUSEUM

Dr. Hunsaker gave a brief resume of the many comples problems the architects face in developing a building that could house the material necessary to depice adequately and properly the historic steps in the conquest of the air and the beginning of rockets and of space vehicles. The Regents then moved to the Conference Room to view the preliminary architects' (Harbeson Hough Livingston & Larson) model of the proposed building for the National Air Museum. After discussion on motion by Dr. Hunsaker, seconded by Senator Fulbright, and carried it was:

VOTED that the Board of Regents requests the Bureau of the Budget and the Congress for planning funds for the National Air Museum.

VOTED that as recommended by the Advisory Board of the National Air Museum, the National Air Museum shall include objects related to all aspects of space research, explorations, travel and documentation of such objects, and at an appropriate time the title of the Bureau and of the proposed new building shall be changed from the National Air Museum to the National Air and Space Museum.

On motion, the meeting was adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
