SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION 1533

Dr. Greenewalt, duly seconded and carried, it was

VOTED that the summary be received.

DATE FOR ANNUAL MEETING AND FOR SPRING MEETING OF THE BOARD OF REGENTS

Dr. Fleming stated that it is an almost impossible task to prepare the annual report in time for the annual meeting as now scheduled. If the date could be later it would be better, and he suspected a somewhat later date might be a little easier for some Congressional members. After discussion, on motion by Mr. Bow, duly seconded and carried, the following resolution was approved:

RESOLVED, That for the greater convenience of the Regents, the next annual meeting of the Board of Regents be held on Thursday, January 25, 1962, at 9:30 a.m.; and that the customary dinner be held the preceding evening, January 24, 1962.

There was a full discussion of convenient dates for the spring meeting and the possibility of laying the cornerstone of the Museum of History and Technology on the same date. It was recalled that last year at the time of the spring meeting the dinner had followed the meeting. On motion, duly seconded and carried, the following resolution was approved:

RESOLVED, That the spring meeting of the Board of Regents be set for Friday, May 19, 1961, and that the time of day of the meeting be subject to the decision reached by the Secretary and the Executive Committee in setting a date for they laying of the cornerstone of the Museum of History and Technology.

ADJOURNMENT

On motion, the meeting was adjourned at 12:22 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
