Sir:
In reply to your letter of the 12" instant I hereby certify that "the distances by the shortest mail routes" between the undernamed places are as follows:

Baltimore, Md. to Prince Fredericktown, Md.  Ninety=five (95) miles.

"Benedict, Md." not being a Post Office, its site and distance by mail route is not officially known.

From the map of the State, it appears to be about 7 miles from Hughesville P.O., which is Seventy=five (75) miles from Baltimore, Md. via Washington, D.C.
