The maneuver should be completed with a 180° heading change (done visually), sufficient airspeed to fly (150-200 KIAS), and the correct altitude to fly level at that airspeed. Altitude should increase monotonically throughout the maneuver (i.e. do not descend after roll out) ending in level flight. After rollout, adjust power and pitch to fly level at that airspeed.

PitFalls:
1) Relaxing g's too soon on the way up - You'll go to high and be so slow you cannot fly at that airspeed. You may want to increase pullup g's slightly overlap.
2) Sloppy heading control - Fly visually, but crosscheck with HSI at beginning and end.
3) Poorly done Roll - excessive heading change during roll out.

CUBAN 8
Entry Conditions: 450 KIAS/MIL
400 KIAS/MIL (Pod)

Maneuver: The first 225° of pitch are essentially the same as for the loop (i.e. until 45° nose down, inverted). At about 45° nose down, inverted relax the back pressure and perform a 180° roll (either way) to heads-up. Do the roll quickly to avoid heading changes during the roll due to the lift vector being out of plane. (Relaxing the back-pressure helps maintain heading by decreasing the lift vector about to be pointed out of plane.) At 45° nose down, relax to the back pressure, then roll (2 distinct steps) and you'll still be pretty much in plane at the end with about 60° nose down pitch, heads-up. Continue on this path until time to increase back pressure to complete the pull though at about the same altitude and same airspeed as at entry. Continue right into the other half of the maneuver, performed the same as the first, except roll the other way.
