Training
1. "hours per week" available
2. training + fam topics:
• Equipment (cameras, lenses, ops recorder, stabilized mount, etc)
• general training on "how to observe" - orientation, get some idea of what its like to look down from space, the scale of things, etc. This training is required to offset the "learning curve" experienced by Skylab crews... shuttle crews won't have the luxury of spending 4-5 passes over a target to get oriented - they must be able to acquire + identify + "observe" a target the 1st (+ possibly only) time its' in view.
• general geology (or oceanography) fam to get the "big picture": what are current theories, problems, etc. An overview of the field, to give them a context for their observations.
