Velcro

Q. Crew comments are requested on velcro usage.

A. Onizuka requested a review of the loose equipment items which have velcro placed on them. The hook doesn't reach the pile. Photography equipment in particular was cited.

The crew could have used even more velcro for the food trays. However, the new velcro fix on the trays worked well.

Door/Compartments

Q. Any difficulties in opening or closing locker or compartment doors?

A. Five lockers on right and one locker on left were difficult to close. (middeck facing forward).

Trash Management

Q. Describe how trash was handled. The cellular insert was added to promote more efficient trash stowage.

A. We really need a trash compactor. There are many items which need to be compressed. T. K. recommended a "Mug Concept" for drink convenience and space saving.

Waste Management Compartment

Q. Crew comments are requested on operation, usage, adequacy, convenience of the WMC and related equipment. Please comment on the adequacy of the towel holders.

A. One towel holder was (is) in the way.
Some bags should be moved to the PHS Kit locker; a bag should be placed on the door while in orbit.

Cabin Atmosphere

Q. Any crew comments on lint, particles, floating debris (where, what, and when)? How often were the filters cleaned? Which filters?

A. The atmosphere was clean. However, when LIOH conisters [[canisters]] were changed, it did induce sneezing.

The vacuum cleaner was used. DEU filters were cleaned; there was alot of "crud." A latching trap door was recommended to help with DEU filter access. Fastemers and washers had to be removed and the washers came loose.

The WCS filter was cleaned daily; the crew cleaned it with their hands.

The AV bay filter was not checked during the mission.
