¶ The drawings, published and unpublished, are becoming so numerous, that here also catologuing and arrangement has become necessary. A list, in the form of a card catalogue, has been made of all the woodcuts and sterotypes of mollusks [[strikethrough]] contained [[/strikethrough]] illustrated in the Smithsonian Reports, and the Proceedings and Bulletins of the Museum (with certain exceptions).

Stout [[strikethrough]] M[[/strikethrough]]manilla envelopes of the same size as the standard library card have been used to contain the original drawings, whether published or unpublished, while in a blank form stamped on the outside of the envelop is noted the catalogue number of the drawing,
