February 11

1978 Saturday - Minus 9 at 6 AM Both water pipes in laundry frozen although we left electric heater on low (too low!) Pipes open before noon - did wash. I painted my bathroom ceiling. Made 2 loaves of French bread - good. We designed replacement sign for front post. First time temperature rose to 30º in over ten days.

1979 - Sunday - Minus 20º Fahrenheit at 6:30 - Clear. Glad don't have to go out early today. Put heater in laundry until noon but couldn't open pipes. Wes balanced books. I sewed buttons on 2nd cotton shirt. Eileen came at noon with pot of daffodils & rolls, bread, mittens and work gloves for my birthday present. We went to Stonehenge for lunch - she left for home at four o'clock. Took nap - did wash by carrying hot water to machine - did not open pipes. Enjoyed Eileen's wood in fire at night.

1980 - Monday - Treasure Cay with Holmdens - cloudy morning - cleared in afternoon. Lazy morning - shopped - arranged luncheon table at Spinnatar Wednesday for Brills and Peggy Bam.
My cold still bad - coughing.

1981 - Wednesday - 50º at 6:45. Raining Sun 6:55 - 5:26. High just over 50º in afternoon.
To Bethal - Agway for bird food - Market for a few groceries - Strepkers for stationery - bank to deposit ICP check - Marcus. Rained heavily in afternoon and very high winds. Window wells filled - leaves were blocking the drains - went out in rain to clear it. We worked on house costs - the house. Hobbied for hour.

1982 - Thursday - 16º at 7 AM - slept late - cloudy. Sun 6:55 - 5:25. Sun out before noon so plants and us went to Solar - We putup the between door fan - split wood - hobbied. I did tax work - cut lower small branches from grey birch and beech near bird feeders - looks better from sitting room. Mr. Pearce left early so we don't know how deep well is today but we had an early cocktail hour.

February 12

1978 - Sunday 24º at 7 AM - Fair. 9:30 Mass.
Prepared for visit of Eileen and Mary. Eileen here at noon - Mary at 2:10. We listened to Luciano Pavarotti on CHannel 13 at 4 pm - solo concert from Metropolitan Opera. Bill and Joan phoned. Good birthday.

1979 - Monday - Minus 18F at 6 AM - clear - snow flurries predicted later. Sun 6:55 - 5:25 - Temperature rose to 18º in afternoon. To  7:30 Mass - we were only ones there - Wes in shop for a few hours - I repotted the spathyphylleum. At 11:15 to Danbury - Bella Italia for lunch - Wes left Model pump at Joe's Welding Shop - to Lexington for Garden - boughtsmall greenhouse for seedlings.. Light snow about 4 pm - no accumulation.

1980 - Tuesday - Treasure Cay with Holmdens - beautiful day - luckily - as took boat trip to Marsh Harbor and Man of War Cay - full boat -walked around Marsh Harbor - bought banana muffins - box lunch on boat - ride to Man of War - many boats in harbour - walked about - ride back to Treasure Cay about two hours - there at four. Checked at Post Office - no mail -dinner at Villa - early to bed. Joan & Hooker gave me Tshirt painted with Hummingbird for my birthday.

1981 - Thursday - 16º at 6:30. Fair, cold, windy - sun warm - temperature not over 30º.
Hobby hour - I worked on tax records - at eleven o'clock to New Melford - Valley Marble Co - looked at tiles, marble - had good discussion with Michael Weston - lunch at Christopher's Route 7, Brookfield - to Pasquaiella to pick up Thermodor stone plates - looked at Amana refrigerator - home for nap and hobbies.

1982 - Friday - 15º at 6:30 - Clear - We saw  the beautiful morning sun in the East - as he arose full to make my breakfast. Sun 6:54 - 5:27.
Hobbies & chores until 11:30 when Wes took me to lunch at Entre Nous - then shopped Grand Central and Plubbeak for planter saucers - took paper and magazines to Reclamation Center. Gizella gave me small kitchen food container. Well at 150 feet - softer rock so going faster - hope for water. Took tieback from sitting room draperies - look good - cozy at night when drawn.
