February 17

1978 - Friday - 22 degrees at 6 AM - Cloudy all day. To 7:30 Mass. Wes to Dr. Joseph Marier Daubery, Podiatrist Will have support made for left foot. Red marks due to alternate cold and heat.
I shopped on Wes' reference - Brunetti's Bedeouts for hanging basket for Asparagus  Meyers Flower & Cheep Shop - Material for cover up. Cleaned golf clubs and bags.

1979 - Saturday - Minus 6 at 6 AM. Clear and beautiful, cold windy winter day. Left at 9 AM for Tarrytown - with Eileen drove to Metropolitan Opera - wanted to see "Edward the King" costumes at library but was not open until twelve. Lunch at Grand  Tier restaurant  - "Die Zauberflote" was opera - 4 debuts. Drove Louis via Tarrytown where picked up more wood gift of Eileen. Very enjoyable day.

1980 - Sunday - at Treasure Cay  - walked beach - caughtin thunderstorm -first we have ever seen here. Back to villa to change clothes - Lazy day - reading Eye of Needle (Wes) Evergreen (me) and I did needlepoint.

1981 - Tuesday - 40º at 6 AM! Went over 60V in afternoon in sun. To Mass - Father back from San Diego vacation. To bank, stop & shop for bananas - left plank lights at Greenhouse - had copies of tax papers made - bought buttons - Hugherto Taylor in Waldon - had suit fitted - picked up tweed coat which was lengthened - to Architect Gadon about checking house plans - left a [[?]] at Bag Sak Shop - home& Wes cut up wood - I scraped  Gypsy moth from Bogus trees.

1982 - Wednesday - 24º at 6:30 - Cloudy & breezy Cold all day - under 30 - not the mild temperature of yesterday. Harris & Park seeds delivered.
Boo took her morning duties in the wood now - easier on us. Walked her later. Shopped Basis and Friendly Plumber - we bought peace of tubing. Wrote letter - made coconut bars in microwave Luckily the Raccoon didn't come at five - or if he did the Solar closed and Boo didn't pee here. Eileen phoned from Washington Circle Hotel - sleeting there.

February 18

1978 - Saturdy - 12º at 6 AM- Cloudy - Another storm predicted - snow started about 10 AM - temperature was over 32º so didn't stick for first six hours - about an inch later. We prepared for dinner. GE service man here at noon, replaced defroster timer in refrig - can only hope that was trouble yesterday. Vargas, Mary & Julehere at 6 pm - came in thru garage. Earl Sturges here re painting ceiling & livingroom - will do it while we're away.

1979 - Sunday - 13º below at 6:45. Clear - clouded up about noon. Did a wash - hot & cold water open with new pipes but had to put hot water down drain first as it was frozen. To 11 o'clock Mass - Baptism during Mass - straightened up cellar (after plumber) threw away what we could. To [[? Oeggeshall's]] in Poured Ridge at 4:30 - their friends from Pleasantville, Graham & Val. Home at 11 pm,

1980 - Monday - at Treasure Cay - Fair morning - walked beach - tide highest and strongest we ever saw - Did a little grocery shopping - no mail. To golf course - hit a bucket of balls - to play will cost us $25.00 plus 15.00 for cart plus 8.00 for club rental - not worth it. Tohotel to straighten out bill - thy will transfer 15.00 daily utilities fee to Edwards account when leaving. No fish - Too rough. Rain late afternoon & night. Joined library.

1981 - Wednesday - 36º at 6:45. Beautiful day high just over 60º - the January thaw in February.
Shop hour - to Waterworks to look at mericn Standard plumbing fixtures - Agway for corn - Emily's for honey for Gizella's birthday - Basics for bananas and a few groceries Basics bananas 25₵/lb - Stop & Shop 45₵.
To Bogus property after lunch. Killed more gypsy moth Wes cut wood - we opened a path to top of rocks at north end.

1982 - Thursday - 22º at 6:45 and cloudy. A high pressure area in New England is keeping the precipitation to the south - The weather report says. For the record - Bananas were 4 lbs/96₵ at Basics yesterday. No Mass as Father is in S.F. To Ridgefield - few groceries at Gran Central at Chock Full Nuts coffee was 1.99 - 2.18 at Basics - Wool Palette for Gizella's birthday gift bottles at Reclamation - bought liquor. Home for lunch nap. Cleaned hall of den floor and put Lestoil on it. Took Boo for walks. Well at 195 - hard rock again.
