June 12

1978 - Monday - 70° at 7AM. Clear - killed huge snapping turtle across pond before breakfast. Left at 8 AM for White Plains - Dr DeCarlo 9:30 and 10:15 appointments - no cavities! Home for lunch - played golf 2-4 pm. Mr Wright looked over trees - will give estimate on cutting dead wood we can't reach. Wes cut lawns - I trimmed and cut side and upper front. Phoned Janice we wouldn't go to wedding in Michigan on July 1st.

1979 - Tuesday - 48° at 6AM. Fair - cool breeze - beautiful day. First day for Joey Keller - cut and trimmed - Terry dropped him off on her way to Lexington Garden. Wes drove me to Brewster for 11:02 train - saw Mrs. Long - 3:15 train home. Bit and Mike had just arrived - Had birthday dinner for him and MQ - She and Jule here for evening   

1980 - Thursday - 34º at 6 AM - Fair beautiful - a little warmer - always a cool breeze. To 7 o'clock Mass.
Gizella came to look over Eileen's Buttercup Spode china for Jule's house warming present - decided to give 10 plates. Gave her lettuce and basil. Wes filled in truck marks over road. I cultivated sun garden - staking plants for Bedford show. Wes worked on truck turnaround.

1981 - Friday - 53º at 6:30. Fair - warm sun - humid. Very dry. Mike came early to go over cost figures - running higher than estimated, especially electric and plumbing. Wes & Mike selected flooring. To Brunetti - dump - Stop & Shop & liquor. After lunch Wes went to bank and Marcus. I picked vegetables for Bedford show and took them to Lee Dickinson - Watered perennial garden. To Bogus - telephone line across road.

1982 - Saturday - 48º at 6:30. Cloudy - cool. Clean the house day. Inside and swept deck and terrace and walk.
After lunch and nap - finished moving stones along road to lower driveway - looked good to see it cleaned.
Prepared for visit from Hartcorns and [[?]]'s  brother and sister-in-law - here 5:30 to 8 pm - drinks only. Late dinner - early bed.

June 13

1978 - Tuesday - 62º at 6:30 AM-cloudy - caught 4th chipmunk (this season's catch). Shopped Caldor for small G.E. beater - liquor - gasoline - Pepperidge - then to Bethel Market (bananas 23¢) and Dolans for salt hay. Very light shower, only 1/10 inch. Worked in gardens in afternoon - staking - clipping - Wes cultivated ilex bed across big bridge - cut out one plant. Cold in evening - high wind - took in hanging plants.

1979 - Wednesday - 45º at 6:30 - Fair - beautiful day - Pat here to clean (day early - taking Ron to airport Thursday) Wes did yard work. Bit, Mike and I drove to Stamford - United Wrecking - Mike bought an ammunition box - Bit a turkey platter - I a duck door knocker - 2 blue milk bottles and a cement planter - met Eileen there - she bought 2 deacon benches for Texaco - to Brocks for luncheon - Eileen drove back to Harrison - we visited Pottery Barn - enroute home stopped at Yellow Monkey - dinner - early to bed. Kelly phoned - she going to Lock Haven tomorrow.

1980 - Friday - 38º at 6 AM - Fair - beautiful day. Prepared for Bedford Flower show - picked Aquilegia and Poppies - packed all flowers - picked up vases from Louise McKeon - to Ricky Harrison's - to Mrs Randolph & Mrs Buckley for their peonies and aquilegia - to Caramoor - set up. Home at 12 pm. Wes had trimmed juniper across little bridge - uncovered bird nests - 3 had birds - had to stop. Cut front & back grass. Learned in evening won first for my peony - third for poppy - Mrs Randolph second for Aquilegia.

1981 - Saturday - 58º at 5:30 - Foggy - .35 in Rain during night - hurray! Joe Keller here - worked until 4 o'clock. Mike Mannion came to try Cub Cadet. Found it was not operable - Nutmeg repaired belts but not [[?]]. After cutting across both bridges Jacobsen wouldn't start, so not a good day for equipment.
Carol & Jon Coggeshall here at 5:30 - looked at Bogus house then back here for dinner - Butterfly Lamb. In morning we had sprayed Bogus nursery for gypsy worm and banded trees.

1982 - Sunday - 48º at 6 AM - Raining - continued all day.
To 8 o'clock Mass. Didn't go to Beach Assoc. meeting.
Wes made out checks - I wrote to Joan. Read paper. Made 2 cakes. Had martini at noon - lunch - nap. Wes had shop hour.
To Ruth Sharpe's  at 5:30 - Rosses there.
