February 5

1983 - Saturday - 20° at 7 AM - Slept late.  Bit phoned at 7:20 - Mike died at 2:20 this morning. Phoned Eileen & Joan. Eileen called Kelly.. Bit phoned later service would be Tuesday.
I went to Pat Coller's funeral service at 10 o'clock at St. Stephens.
Shopped Brunetti - ham to take to Lockhaven - turned over 6 months certificate at Village Bank - left Irish Lace needlepoint at Yarnbee for mounting. Made coffee cake - did tax work.

1984 - Sunday - 32° at 6 AM - Cloudy. Sun 7:03-5.17- To 8 o'clock Mass.
House chores and hobbies. I made out the Rock Garden Security Seed Exchange order.
Snow started about one o'clock. Steady and wet. Shoveled and raked before dark - about 5 inches.
Started on tax records.

1985 - Tuesday - 8° at 7 AM - Fair - More snow predicted for tonight - started after 6 pm - some timing as far as shoreline is concerned. Cloudy & gloomy from mid-morning. I went to church to help Louise trim plants & water. Wes went to bank & Sears. Alex loaned Wes gold paint and brushes and he started lettering the tender. We brought down the sewing machine - set it up in the kitchen deck window - I did a little on the blue linen dress.

1986 - Wednesday - 32° at 7 AM - Icy rain had fallen in night - hard crust over everything - temperature rose slowly but not much melting. Our colds/coughs are flourishing - I stayed in - Wes went to bank - Marcus and for bird food in afternoon. Sand truck came through several times. Tibor's car had skidded off his driveway into woods section.  Deer nipped juniper at mailbox.
All we did was take care of our colds today.

1987 - Thursday - 20° at 6:30. Fair - Good sunrise. Sun 7:02 - 5:18 - noticeably lighter. Beautiful winter day. Had sandwich in Solar. Did wash - ironed. Took a walk up to Allen's corner - first time since Wes had a cold. He is getting better - I have symptoms
After lunch to Post Office - copy made of IRS letter to send to Krawchick - agreed with my 1984 figures on interest. ICP checks arrived. Did desk work - Wes made some labels for our stock file - discovered bottom drawer of file not suitable for hanging file folders.


February 6

1983 - Sunday - 18° at 6:30 - Cloudy. Sun 7:03-5.22. Cold day - light snow started at 2:30.
To 8 o'clock Mass. Wes paid bills - contributions.
To Tracy's at noon for cocktail party - lots of people - house and food beautiful. Home at 2:30 for a nap - then to Keeler Tavern for show of glass. Home at 5:45 for dinner - fire in den as usual - keeps it warm.

1984 - Monday - 29° at 6 AM - Beautiful snow scene when sun came up. - 7:02-5:18. Clouds in the afternoon but mostly beautiful day - snow stayed on trees a long time. Wes worked in shop
I took the thyme wreath to Mary Luke. After lunch Wes drove me to Hawsie Nash's for Horticulture Meeting - he then shopped - got gasoline - went to Reclamation - looked at vacuums for his shop in Caldor's - none there.  Louise gave me ride home - Hawsie gave us Coleus plant.

1985 - Wednesday - 20° at 6 AM - Light snow - at least three inches - Mike plowed at 6:30 while we were having breakfast - first time this season. Wes finished the driveway - I did the front walk & Solar roof - path to the birdfeeders - later in afternoon the deck - running out of places to put the snow. Snowed all day - lightly. Phoned Helen - decided not to work at Greenhouse. Wes did more lettering on his tender - put No. 7 on the cab. I made cranberry muffins - threw out magazines.

1986 - Thursday - 30° at 7 AM. Fair  Sun 7:03-5:17
Beautiful winter day - cold, but warm sun.  No Mass because of our colds. I went to Village Bank to turn over Certificate of Deposit for one year - 8% instead of 10.25 for two years 84/86 - to Brunetti and Stop & Shop. Wes stayed on sofa for the day - bad head cold. I made beef soup and stew - cooked dinner - I'm feeling better but still coughing and blowing.

1987 - Friday - 21° at 6:30 - already finished our breakfast - Wes will not go to Mass - still coughing. I went to Mass. We worked on Crossword - difficult - can't complete one corner. To Village Bank to pick up check for CD - (couldn't get the 1099) deposited check in Union Trust - shopped for liquor - few groceries - Copy machines out of order in town so went to Backus Ave. Post office for them enroute home. Took a walk to Allen's corner - Wes' legs very tired - lunch - nap - filled feeders.
