February 13

1983 Sunday - 12° at 6:30 - Clear. Sun 6:55-5:30 -
Sunny beautiful winter day - but cold -
To 8 o'clock Mars - no trouble backing car out.  NY Times wasn't published (delivered) yesterday but came today.
Wes shoveled front walk. I washed hair - cleaned den.  To Waccabuc as guests of Mary Luke for Valentine lunch - Tempanelli's there. Home over West Mountain - Nap - Worked on tax records.

1984 - Monday - 36º at 7 AM. Dense Fog.  6:53-5:21. Had the usual breakfast time entertainment of squirrels leaping in trees over cliff to reach bird feeders. Saw a Pileated Woodpecker chipping away at a tree over cliff. Louise brought a friend to see the Solar.  hopped Waldbaum. Adessi for watch straps - stopped at Green Electric to ask about ceiling tracks to hang plants - have them electrified. Bought tricot at fabric shop. Lunch - nap - walk. Went down cliff path - picked up sticks - mild - Wes split wood, filled pots with soil & took them to holding bed for alpine seeds.

1985 - Wednesday - 33º at 6:30. Chased four deer down on cliff walk. Sun 6:53-5:27. Cloudy, but not cold or windy - 32º most of day. Picked up loads of sticks and small limbs - many more on snow will have to wait for melting and a good raking. Racoon took cover off metal barrel behind shed. I transplanted Spathyfillum [[Spathyphyllum]]
Planted Rock Garden Society seeds and placed the pots against North wall of house. Wes brought in wood - using some we picked up. I did some sewing. I watered the Fuchsias, and the Amaryllis in the crawlspace - brought in 2 Amaryllis.

1986 - Thursday - 13º at 6 AM - Sun 6:55-5:26 - Beautiful cold sunny winter day - high wind. To Mass. To bank to transfer money to checking account to cover the Moseley check sent yesterday. Wes pushed snow from deck. After lunch I went to Needles to learn how to knit shoulders together of vest and start the ribbing around neck on a round needle - big store - picked up bananas from Stop & Shop - home for a nap. Wes totaled our Medical/Medicare forms - hope to take them to White Plains to inquire about refund. Joan phoned at nine - Hooker's operation over & successful

1987 - Friday - 20º at 6:15 - 
Beautiful winter day - sunny - cold - windy. To Mass. Shoveled snow from walks - about an inch Shoveled the deck - hadn't done that so it had a couple snows piled up. Wes raked the driveway. We worked on tax records in afternoon - Wes added up our investment in AT&T
Enjoyed "Monsignor Quixote" in evening. Alec Guiness and Leo McKern.


February 14

1983 - Monday - 13º at 7 AM. Cloudy - damp day - temperature rose to 38º in afternoon.
Wes shoveled paths to woodpile and compost and split wood - using a splitting maul for first time.
I went to Ballard's Plant Sale - bought Cyclamen and Streptocarpus - to bank - Brunetti and Grand Central.
Wes took me to lunch at La Fortuna, Bethel, very good - bought suet at Finast - lots of woodpeckers and starlings now. Finished tax records. We owe.

1984. Tuesday. 36º at 6 AM. Dark. Sun 6:52-5:29
Misty, foggy - rain - mild luckily. To Mass.  To bank to deposit ICP checks - decided to buy Nuveen Tax Exempt Bonds - Marcus for milk. Cocktail for St Valentine's Day. Nap. No walk account rain. Planted ARGS seeds in pots in upper holding bed. Wes in shop - didn't split wood. Ribs sore from yesterday's work. To Rosses at 5:30 - Valentine Party - all neighbors there.

1985 - Thursday - 27º at 6:15 - New Moon in South. Sun 6:51-5:28. Beautiful sunny winter day - the sun is much warmer. To Mass. I worked at Ballard shopped Stop & Shop and Sew and Sew - picked up Big Shirt pattern - enroute home. Had St Valentine Day lunch with a Martini in Solar.
Material for Wes' new locomotive arrived.  I sewed.

1986 - Friday - 14º at 7 AM. Cloudy - light snow by 3 PM - temperature high was 26º.
To White Plains - Plaza Sweets on So Fulton Street for cookes and a hazelnut cake. To Angie Giuffreda with our 1985 Medicare forms - information on filing for refund if Metropolitan doesn't want copies of doctor bills we don't have. To Altman's - didn't like lamps - bought slippers and sheets for me. Sandwich there. Stopped at Cross River for milk & salad greens - to Ridgefield for gasoline - home - nap. Phoned Joan - Hooker doing fine.

1987 - Saturday - 8º at 7:30 - Cloudy - became mostly fair, but very cold. Out only to feed birds in the morning. Early lunch - to Brookfield Fine Arts Theatre for 12:15 showing of Woody Allen's "Radio Days"
Stopped for milk at Marcus - home for a nap - washed hair - worked on tax records.
