1983 - Sunday - 21º at 6:30 - Clear - sunny beautiful winter day - cold but warm sun. To 8 o'clock Mass. Did work work.
Hobbies.
Martini before lunch in 82º Solar! Nap. Took walk around Scodon and up Bogus to Allens - back to our hill.

1984 - Monday - 20º at 6 AM - Clear in morning, cloudy, damp in afternoon - snow predicted tonight
Wes took car to Honda for tire and oil change - fix right door squeal. I arranged for Auto Train March 6. We went to Stop & Shop - Reclamation - Ridgefield Travel for Auto Train ticket - Wes to Bedeents for plant-hanging tracks - camera film - bank - bought 2 pairs slacks at Nicholas' - pick up Friday - to Muriel Pedersen's for plants from Hartford Show - delivered African Violet to Helen - had 2 firsts 1 second - 1 Hon. Mention

1985 - Wednesday - 40º at 6 AM - Light rain over night, cloudy morning - sunny afternoon.
I went to Memorial Garden (shopping Stop & Shop enroute) to meet with Paul Roche, Edith Miffley and Hawsie Nash - discussed moving plants. Home for lunch. Wes went for pill renewal, shopped for shelf for lavatory - no luck. He worked in shop. I cut out diningroom table cover. Very high winds in afternoon and evening so no fire

1986 - Thursday - 18º at 6 AM. Cloudy. Snow predicted - didn't come - became sunny and fair. Solar is warm from about 11 to 4 these sunny days. To Mass - gave Louise Tavern bars for her luncheon tomorrow.
Mr De Silva installed the rods for the livingroom draperies - white rods - don't make them in brown - he forgot the hooks so had to come back at 7:30 to hang the draperies. Look good - some wrinkles. Wes worked in shop and split wood. I sprayed the Freesias - have aphids.
Phoned Joan - Hooker about the same - doctors don't know reason for fever.

1987 - Friday - 23º at 6 AM - Fair - beautiful winter day. I went to Samuel Bridge (after Mass) picked up 8 Geranium Cherry Blossom cuttings (8) for Muriel Pedersen and me - home at 10:30 - had stopped at Banksville for bananas & oranges. Eileen came up with her new Honda and the dog - we had a sandwich - she went to Colonial Gallery looking for lamps for Texaco - took two on approval - brought me back home then left. Wes not feeling very well - he did crossword.


February 28

1983 - Monday - 28º at 6:30. Fair. Sun 6:33-5:48
Beautiful winter day.  Milder in afternoon - near 50º.
To bank - Vaghi to inquire for a mantel - none - Ticketron for tickets to Vatican Show April 12th - Finast for groceries - Wes bought metal closet rod and had to go back to exchange it for proper size -
Lunch - nap - Wes installed rod in bedroom closet and split wood. I trimmed trees top of hill - saw deer had uprooted and eaten wall garden plants.

1984 - Tuesday - 30º at 6 AM. Light dusting of snow - high winds. To Mass - Rectory parking lot and steps very icy. Freezing rain iced all trees until temperature rose to 36º about 2 pm - A good indoor day. I made Toll House Cookies and Brownies - cleaned pots of bulbs for Greenwich show. Wes had a disaster in shop making a gig - put up plant tracks in kitchen ceiling - had disaster on last screw of second track - better luck tomorrow.

1985 - Thursday - 19º at 6:15 - Clear. We're not used to this cold. Sunny day - cold - not outdoor weather. To Mass. Shopped for mirror/shelf for Shop lavatory. Had to go to many places before found separate shelf and mirror which Wes installed in afternoon.
I finished three of the heavy table pads (ran out of lining material for last one) not really worth the time.
Had fire in den. Kept moving plants (bulbs) around to keep them cool

1986 - Friday - 14º at 7 AM - Slept late - had heat on at 6 AM but awakened again by the drop alarm. Sunny. Sun 6:34-5:34. Beautiful winter day - sunny - too cold and windy to walk. Did a wash - Wes in shop. To Mass at noon - month's mend for Ruth Sharp - Father Tighe & Bill Russell officiated - to McKeon's following for lunch. Home at three - nap - did crossword - pancake supper. Eileen phoned Joan and then us. Joan hopes to get Hooker home tomorrow as he is despondent - Hard time for them.

1987 - Saturday - 22º at 6:45 - Fair - fleecy clouds. Sun 6:32-5:45. Sunny until noon, then increasing clouds & temperature rising. To bank, Marcus, and post office - good to have the one on Backus Avenue. Did crossword - took our walk - lunch - nap. Put all Christmas greens and ornaments in the house away - also the two sprays at garage front which were pretty dried out. Decided not to go to Ridgefield Orchestra Concert too comfortable at home.
