March 2

1983 - Wednesday - 42º at 6:15 - Raining.  Sun 6:30-5:50. Rain stopped early morning - sun out in afternoon - lots of the snow melted in mild temperature. Terrible rains continue in Calif. To Stop & Shop - Liquor - Reclamation and Cheese Shop buying supplies for tomorrow's dinner. Cooked chicken - made cake - cookies in Microwave - no good - lunch in Solar - Hobbies & Wood splitting in afternoon.

1984 - Friday - 20º at 6:30 - Clear - Periods of cloudiness - snow flurries - cold wind.
We took the lily and the 3 small pots of Box cuttings to Anne Tracy to mind - I worked at Ballard while Wes went to bank - picked up his 2 pairs of slacks - bought meat and bananas. He returned for me at noon. After lunch we took some golf clubs for our new light weight bags - cleaned golf shoes - Gizella here to go over bird feeding - Donna Clark came to go over plant watering

1985 - Saturday - 38º at 6 AM - Scattered clouds
Put heat on for Eileen's visit - moved "Greenwich" bulbs to Solar which was 47º - Moved them later to front steps for cold temperature - hyacinth attracted honey bees!
Prepared for Eileen's visit - here at 11:45 until 4 pm. Brought us bread - after dinner we took a walk up Ned Mountain Road - met about six cars! Good temperature in sun - brisk breeze - higher at night so no fire.

1986 - Sunday - 22º at 6 AM - Lovely moon in South. Sunny morning - cloudy afternoon - fresh cold wind. To 8 o'clock Mass - Passionist Missionary Father John McLoughlin to give a retreat all week. Read papers. Took our 2 mile walk - Martini in Solar - lunch - nap - cleaned out bees nest from eave - returned Bernina to the table upstairs - watched morning and evening episodes of "Anne of Green Gables" - very good - Channel 13 having its drive. Wes in shop - I cleaned up plants - Phoned Joan - Hooker not eating - weak.

1987 - Monday - 36º at 6:30 - Cloudy - foggy - the snow was compressed in the rain but there is still a lot of it. Sun 6:29-5:48.  Mostly cloudy day - not too cold. Did crossword. To bank - Waldbaum's - Wes had a haircut - To Danbury Fair Mall where I had a haircut - not bad - may go again. Had lunch at Pepperidge, then home for nap - I sewed on blue/white skirt. We made an orange/walnut cake.


March 3

1983 - Thursday - 37º at 6 AM - Clear beautiful day - around 50º in afternoon and sun was warm. Put door fan in Solar to spill heat as Rosses were coming for dinner - they leave for Calif.-Arizona tomorrow.
To Mass. Cleaned house - fixed rest of dinner.
Out after lunch to bring rest of wood chips to garden path - cleared area along road, where chips were, of logs and debris. Looked over trees to be trimmed. Rosses here 5:45 - dinner - to Fr. Berge's talk on Christian Zen.

1984 - Saturday - 21º at 6:30. Fair. Sun 6:26-5:50. Sunny but very cold day - high wind. House chores.  ook Yellow Geranium and Apple Blossom Amaryllis to Tempanelli's - Marcus for milk and paper - put spent bulbs in compost pile - gave Red Tulips to Gizella - got out clothes and suit cases and started packing for trip. Holmdens phoned to wish us good trip and inquire what we were doing with AT&T stock.

1985 - Sunday - 28º at 6 AM - Sun 6:27-5:49. Forecast is for fair but cooler - it was - warm sun stiff cold breeze. To 8 o'clock Mass - Missions priest.
Moved Wes' model locomotive to two shelves before it found its home on the one, to the left of the fireplace. Rearranged books, dusting as we went.
Wes brought down plant light from hay-loft - plan to use it in garage to try to hold bulbs until Thursday.
Too tired to go to movie - Worked on tax records.
To Mission at 7:30 - not the old style mission.

1986 - Monday - 22º at 6 AM - Waning moon in south. Beautiful day - best in weeks - sunny and not a high wind. To 7:30 Mass in church - Mission or Parish Renewal as they call it now - not well attended - an hour's service - Wes in shop - I fixed plants - We did crossword - Al Tempanelli brought his Jasmine for us to mind while they are in Florida - took our walk - lunch - nap - Wes split wood - I watered Fuschia in crawlspace - dry - phoned Joan - good news, Hooker coming home tomorrow.
To 8 o'clock Mission services - a repeat of morning homily.

1987 - Tuesday - forgot to put down temperature at breakfast time - but it was a high of 42º during the day, and partly cloudy & sunny. To Ballard Greenhouse where the mini-plant sale was going on - bought a Streptocarpus - frilled edged rose color. To Brunetti - Stop & Shop - Wes had taken papers to Reclamation while I was at the Greenhouse. Home - took our walk, luckily in sunshine - lunch - nap. I sewed blue/white skirt. Wes read papers - filled bird feeders.
