March 8

1983 - Tuesday - 34º at 6 AM - Misting - High Wind. rain most of day - heavy at times. To Mass.
Billie Newell picked me up at 9:30 - to New Canaan St Mark's Parish Hall - Flower Arrangements by Barry Ferguson benefit Stamford Garden Club Civic Fund - Box lunch.  Home at 3 pm.
Wes worked in shop - when rain let up at 4 pm he split wood.

1984 - Thursday - On board Auto Train - Continental breakfast - train about 40 minutes late - car came off quickly - beautiful sunny day - drove to Buena Vista Village - Royal Plaza Hotel - room not ready - took bus to Disney Village - bought Transportation Ticket for $2.00 each - rode Monorail to Magic Kingdom - Contemporary Hotel where where we had lunch - then ferry to and fro Magic Kingdom - Monorail to Epcot Center - back to Hotel - Garden Suite! big room - nap - shower - dinner. (397 miles at Royal Plaza)

1985 - Friday - 37º at 6 AM - Raining in morning - cleared mid afternoon - Sun 6:19-5:55
Wes to bank & Waldbaums while I waited for Hawsie Nash to bring my bulbs - rejected by Greenwich - I didn't win for the tulips or Hyacinths entered - other members did. Planted the Kennedy seeds - replanted myrtle - Hawsie took two Leucothoe cuttings to put under her lights. We went outside mid-afternoon - took Rock Garden seed pots to nursery bed - walked about inspecting grounds, making plans.

1986 - Saturday - 13º at 6:30 - Sun coming up - wind has died down. Sun 6:20-5:54. Sunny day - cold. House chores. I gathered articles Anne Tracy wanted for RGC meeting March 26th & we took them to her. Lunch - nap. Took our walk to Henley's - two miles round trip. Wes in shop. I worked with plants & started mohair sweater. Carolyn & Pete Bleckwehl visiting Eileen.

1987 - Sunday - 44º at 6:30. Fair - Pink iris in bloom came out overnight. To 8 o'clock Mass.  Vacuumed and dusted livingroom as John and Jodi Millar were stopping by enroute Maine. They were here 11:15/12:30 only. We had a Martini and sandwich in Solar. Warm day - over 60º - took a walk in sweaters only - walked about picking up sticks and making plans - south lawn still covered by snow except for septic tank. To Nancy Carroll's at 5:30 - saw her pictures of African animals. Last of "Lost Empires" on Channel 13 - not the best.


March 9

1983 - Wednesday - 36º at 6:30 - Cloudy, windy - some light rain. Gloomy damp day.
I worked at Ballard 9-11:30 - shopped Stop & Shop enroute home.
Made buttonholes in blue print cotton shirt.
Wes worked in shop and split wood.

1984 - Friday - Night at Royal Plaza - Disneyland. After breakfast packed bags and put them in car, as checkout time 11 AM.  Took Courtesy Bus to Epcot Center (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow) - thru General Motors Building - U.S. Building - China Exhibit - all of which had rides - films - very good. Also Mexico.  Watched Japanese Dancers and International Dancers & Singers - excellent exhibits.  Back to hotel for car - drove Tampa - St. Petersburg - stopped at Holiday Inn outside Bradenton.  (494 miles on marker)

1985 - Saturday - 34º at 6 AM. Clear
Female Red Bellied Woodpecker on suet. She comes often now.
To Danbury Waldbaums - needed card for Hooker's birthday - forgot it was tomorrow - bought 39 more 2¢ stamps. House and plant chores. Wes put towel holder under lavatory shelf - I stained it. I finished last of table runners. Out after nap to move logs from top of big rock to roadsides where hope to have them picked up. Crocus out at steps - narcissus breaking ground. Washed car

1986 - Sunday - 23º at 6 AM - Light snow stopped before 8 AM - temperature rose so by early afternoon snow melted. To 8 o'clock Mass - house and plant chores - papers - lunch - nap - left at 2 PM for Greenwich - picked up my five entries - tulips and Jasmine rings had Second & Honorable Mention for Amaryllis - home at 5:15 - Phoned Eileen - Carolyn & Pete had gone home at noon after a pleasant visit - but they didn't go into NYC.

1987 - Monday - 41º at 6:30 - cloudy - some sun at mid-day - cloudy and much colder toward evening. Did crossword - Wes is drawing the locomotive plan in smaller scale. I cut out a skirt - 2nd time on pattern - will try to make pleats instead of gathers. To bank to put in Texaco dividend - Marcus for milk. Took our walk to "K" on Ned Mountain - Returned to hobbies after lunch & nap.
