Birthdays [[no entries] January 1 1988 - Friday - 35° at 7 AM - Light rain - Sun 7:20 - 4:38. Cleared a bit - faint sun in afternoon twice. Quiet day for us. Wes had a bad night coughing. Eileen phoned - would not come up account Wes' cold and weather. Kelly, who had been at Carolyn & Pete's and went to Hudson River School Painting yesterday, stopped by for an hour's visit. We did the crossword - set up the year book - Lots of friends called to inquire about Wes, since we missed [[Makeson's?]] party last night. 1989 - Sunday - at Eileen's in Tarrytown. Cloudy day - cold and damp. To 7:30 mass at Church of the Transfiguration. Leisurely breakfast. Discovered Tappan Hill - Tarrytown Book Club - closed for New Years - Mary came up and we went to Chart Room in Dobbs Ferry - right on the river - very interesting - good food. Left for home - reached here at 3 pm - house very cold - napped - relaxed - soup for supper. 1990 - Monday - at Eileen's in Tarrytown - Cloudy early but cleared mid-morning - windy - high moving clouds so off and on sunny. Sun 7:30 - 4:39. To 7:30 mass at Church of Transfiguration - leisurely breakfast - walked dogs - Mary came at 11:30 - Chart Room not open - neither any other restaurants, so Eileen gave us a delicious lunch Home at 3:45. lots of snow melted in the rain yesterday. Took a nap - worked on crossword. Watched Notre Dame win over Colorado Buffalos in Orange Bowl. 1991 - Tuesday - at Eileen's in Tarrytown. Beautiful sunny cold day. To 7:30 Mass at Church of Transfiguration Breakfast - walked dogs. Prepared dinner - Eileen had Jane Brady's Cornish Hens - rice cranberry etc - her version of the recipe - delicious - Mary came at twelve - had Veuve Cliquot champagne again - Great - left for home about 3:30 - Everything ok here - Sun 7:20 - 4:39. Watched Notre Dame - Colorado Buffalo game from Miami 1992 - Wednesday. At Eileen's in Tarrytown - Sunny beautiful day. Cold. Sun 7:24/4:38. To 8 o'clock mass of Church of Transfiguration. Eileen's menu was from Joy Brady - "Island Chicken" - Apple Tart - all very good - Mary came at 12:10 - Andy Waddel came by for a drink We left for home at 3:40 - good trip - everything fine here - raccoon had not taken the suet. Wes took a nap - I put things away. Eileen had given us bread and a box of Bulgur (cracked wheat) Did the crossword
