January 4

1988 – Monday – 28° at 9AM – About 5 inches of snow – Still snowing lightly. Sun (if out) 7:20–4:41 – Cleared before noon - sun out for a beautiful day.
Spent the day raking and shoveling the snow – a lot of it – hope we don't get many more snowstorms so heavy as will run out of places to put it. Early dinner as Jon Sanders of Carston's came at 6:30 to check radio had to take it to shop with Dual Recordplayer. Connected CD player to amplifier so we can use that.

1989. Wednesday – in NYC – no snow but very cold and very windy. Breakfast in Rose Room Algonquin not good oatmeal – bus to Lexington & 69th Dr Espy – (Madison Ave Bus & walk) subway back to 42 St – shopped. Brooks for Wes' underwear and hat – checked out of Algonquin. Taxi to Colony Club, Park & 62nd, where left our bag – walked across 59th Street to Broadway – terribly cold & windy – lunch at Houlihans – to Vivian Beaumont for "Anything Goes" guests of Stoddards very good show – dinner guests of Louise McKeon at Colony Club – very good. She drove us home – here at 10pm – turned up heat!

1990 - Thursday – 36° at 7AM – Slept late – no breakfast before Mass – Father Medynski couldn't complete Mass Reaction to heart medicine – we all stayed with him for a time 
Sun 7:20-4:41. Wes fixed garage doorknob - plugged bottom hole in birdfeeder. We took a walk to #215 Ned mountain – to Waldbaums for groceries - Marcus and bank. After lunch I made crepe batter – cooked chicken – made cornmeal muffins and cranberry salad – in case Helen & Alex come for lunch tomorrow – in doubt as Alex is upset.

1991 – Friday – 26° at 6AM. Half percent (½ %) milk at Marcus $1.99 – sign there says "Sale" - Same price for some time. Sun 7:20-4:41. Beautiful day – To Mass. Did crossword. Took a mile walk early. I went to Bank - Sylvia Barry where bought Oxford Grey Pants. Stop & Shop – mailed a card to Madeline Morrison in Norwalk Hospital with lung cancer. Lunch in Solar. Nap. Wes in shop. I ironed in interfacing on white cotton blouse.

1992 – Saturday – 40° at 7:30 – Raining and a high wind. Glad we dont have to go out. Sun (none) 7:20-4:41
We took off cover of radiator in shop lavatory and sanded it. I cleaned kitchen floor – vacuumed – trimmed myrtle standards and sprayed them in bathtub – a messy job. Wes painted, with primer, the radiator cover. I made Raisin Bran cookies, bran muffins and fruited [[?]] Light rain most of day - winds continued - shore towns buffeted.

January 5

1988 – Tuesday – 16° at 7AM. Fair, Sun 7:20 - 4:42
Beautiful cold winter day – high winds.
To Ridgeferter bank – Wes checked on watch at Adessi – no information yet on repair – Youngs for bird food – I checked on my knitting [[instructions?]] & wes to cleaners. liquor and [[Genovese??]] while I was at Stop & Shop. Home for lunch – Wes sold welding equipment to Sam Samtino (via Jimmy O'Hanlon) for their Antique Auto Club – had  ad in Penny saver.

1989. Thursday – 11° at 7AM – clear. Sun 7:20 - 4:43
Sunny windy cold day – not a "walking" day.
Wes took his model driving wheels to Lee Engineering for adjustment - stopped at bank, Marcus & Waldbaums.
My dentist appointment cancelled as crowns didn't arrive  I shopped Stop & Shop.
Wes in shop – I did a little knitting
Phoned the Holmdens – Joanne's letter told Joan Marie Wood in hospital – not expected to live – bone cancer.

1990 – Friday – 36° at 7AM – Fair. Sun 7:20 - 4:42
Fair. beautiful day. No Mass - Father ill. Prepared lunch for Alex and Helen, here at [[?]]. Helen and I went to Memorial Service at 2. St Stephens for [[Liney Bourze?]] Wes and Alex took a np and talked in den until our return at 3:30.
We cleaned up and relaxed. Checked crossword.

1991. Saturday. 20° at 6:30. Went back to bed until house warmed up. Sun 7:20 – 4:42 – Morning beautiful – clouded up in afternoon. Took our walk early – two miles to Henley's – put propagated azaleas that were hardening off in living room into box surrounded by [[log?]] chips  and salt hay and set the box in shed area & hope they make it. hobbied in afternoon.
Saddam Hussein agreed to talks between his Foreign Minister & Secy State Baker. hope it averts war.

1992 – Sunday – 42° at 6AM. Cloudy Sun 4:20 – 4:42
Cleared at sunset but gloomy damp day.
To 8 o'clock mass. Read papers. telephoned girls – all well.
Relaxing day. Cleaned up papers, magazines. [[?]] up the year's calendar. Put new ironing board cover on. Did crossword of Cross Word Club. Separated one African Violet
Parnell on Channel 13 at 9AM.
