January 6

1988. Wednesday – 12° at 6:30 – Fair – Cold – windy beautiful winter day. No Mass until the 15th – Father is in Holy Land
Drove to Purdy's – took 9:25 train to Grand Central – subway to 68th St. – walked to Lex & 69th to Dr Espy – Wes had good report – prescription for new glasses – made appoint – for April 6th – back to Grand Central – good connections on subway – New England Clam Chowder at Oyster Bar – 12:48 train to Purdy – home at 2:30 – nap – finished crossword – played CD's but miss radio

1989. Friday – 18° at 6AM – Dark – Sun (not today) 7:20 - 4:43
Started snowing at 7:30 AM - Wes sick – I went to church – snowed all day – very fine. I raked and broomed several times – cleared the road entrance – quit at 4pm and up to then no plow came through – just the sand truck. Wes rested all day, felt better toward evening – couldnt hold anything down until water at night.

1990. Saturday – 30° at 7AM – Cloudy morning – sunny clear afternoon – up to 36° in afternoon. sun 7:20 – 4:43
House chores – Wes to bank & Marcus for bread – we are trying to find a good wholewheat. Took a mile walk [[early?]] lunch – nap. Carolyn & Peter brought Chelsea's new [[honey?]] Sarah at 2pm. After, Wes read "Raj" I did a little sewing.

1991 – Sunday – 35° at 6AM – Icy crust on deck & terrace. Sun 7:20 – 4:43  Town had sanded the roads so no difficulty going to Mass. We walked on the grass to avoid the slippery walks. Read papers. Wes in shop. To the Inn for Luncheon – Helen Ross & Mary Luke joined - Delayed birthday celebration for Helen. Home at 3. Filled feeder – lots of birds. Nap. I did a few seams of cotton blouse.

1992 – Monday 36° at 9:30 – Clear. Sun 7:20 – 4:43
Beautiful winter day. Windy and sunny.
Did crossword. To 10 o'clock funeral mass for Al Keogh – the Lunch will miss him. To Sears for brown [[front?]] for shop lavatory heater cover. Lunch – nap  I went to bank – S&S and Minuteman Press for copies of Metropolitan letter on Wes. Feb 7 lab fee at Danbury Hospital and ordered notepaper. Wes put first coat of brown paint on heater cover. I ironed. Made scallop/shrimp pasta dish – same as Eileen gave us at her [[?]] –very good.

January 7
1988 – Thursday – 12° at 7AM. Fair. Sun 7:20 – 4:44
Very cold windy day, but sunny.
To bank, Breeneth – Shop & Shop. Genorese – Took a mile walk before lunch – very cold – temperature was 22° at the time.
Made Tavern Bars – David's Cookies – veal stew. 
Wes sorted the plans for a new model – 30 sheets.
Our Macintosh Radio will be back Monday night – Dual turntable not worth repair.

1989 – Saturday – 26° at 7AM – Cloudy – Sun 7:20 – 4:45
Gloomy, gray day – slowly rising temperature – 34° at night 
Wes stomach much better – ate carefully. 2" snow. 
Raked and shoveled – driveway – walks – desk – Solve roof – paths to birdfeeders and compost. Redbelted Woodpecker coming regularly to suet on tree – at one time saw two – one might be female – less red on head.
Quiet day – crossword – papers – Knitting – shop.

1990 – Sunday – 26° at 6AM. Stars out. Sunny afternoon after a cloudy morning. Sun 7:20 – 4:44.
To 8 o'clock Mass. Walked to Henley's on [[Red?]] Mountain Early lunch – Good nap – to "Little Mermaid" Ridgefield Cinema at 3pm with a Stop for bananas first, Loads of lads eating popcorn – Disney effects probably good but hard on old eyes.

1991 – Monday – 32° at 7:30 – Really slept late. Sun – none today – 7:20–4:44 
 Snow in Jersey. Damp cloudy wintery looking day but we took a two mile walk. Also went to Stop & Shop – bananas 2lbs 89¢ – gasoline $1.519 a gallon – Marcus and bank.
Wes in shop after lunch. I made Squash Bisque – did a little sewing.

1992 – Tuesday – 32° at 6AM – Stars out. Sun 7:26–4:44
Not a bad day – sunny mostly and breezy.
To Mass. Wes put another coat of paint on the shop lavatory radiator cover. We took our mile walk. Had an early lunch as I had a one o'clock appointment for mammagram [[mammogram]] at Family Medical Associates – located in new building behind Talbats. Apparently everything ok. Here to work on transferring address & dates to new purse year book.
