January 16

1988 - Saturday - 11° at 7 AM - Fair - Sun 718 - 453
Supposed to be a bit milder today - it was - sunny. Good winter day.
Prepared house and dinner for Eileen - here at 11:45. Wes cooked steaks - pulled grill out of garage - very good. Eileen and I went to Carolyn & Pete's - Eileen's first visit here - Wes came over for me - he brought some wood for the Blackwell's - We bought bananas at Stop & Shop - home to clean up dishes. Watched "Miss Marple" on Channel 13.

1989 - Monday - Official Martin Luther King Birthday - 28° at 7 AM. Good to sleep in Sun 7:18 - 4:54. Off and on cloudy sunny but not bad. Did a little hobbying
Took our two mile walk - early lunch and nap - to North Street movie "Rainman" Dustin Hoffman & Tom Cruise - very good - Home for a shower etc - to Vargas at 6pm for dinner - home at 9:20 to see rest of "A Very British Coup" on Channel 13.

1990 - Tuesday - 34° at 6AM - No Mass as going to Wilton for mammagram - 9:30 appointment. Sun 718 - 4:54
Beautiful day - mild - up to 57° in afternoon. To Women's Imaging Center for mamagram - over to Rt 123 & down to Banksville Fabrics - bought wool & linen for a jacket - pink cotton for a blouse - New [[?]]. Home for lunch & nap. Washed car (needed it badly - was slippery with snow & sand) trimmed Myrtle standards and washed out their stone filled saucers.

1991 - Wednesday - 36° at 7 AM. Dense Fog. 718 - 454 
Last midnight deadline passed - no movement toward withdrawal from Kuwait by Saddam Hussein.
Rain and fog all day - strictly indoor weather.
Wes dropped me at Mall for a haircut - he bought eggs at Marcus. Washed tile border of floor in den. Wes model material delivered finally from Little Engines.
Attack against Iraq started about 5:30 - planes apparently pounding Baghdad Military targets - Not much resistance.

1992 - Thursday - 20° at 6 AM. Slight snow overnight. Sun 718 - 4:53. To Mass. Snow and high winds while at Mass. Snow stopped before noon but winds continued - very cold. To S & S after blowing snow off walks and pulling it from Solar roof. Didn't have to do driveway as only about an inch. Town [[strikethrough]] plowed [[/strikethrough]] salted roads - our clean car is very dirty.
Put leaf in table - took out tablecloth - ironed napkins for Sunday.

January 17

1988 - Sunday - 28° at 6 AM. Beautiful morning - cloudy in afternoon but much milder - the January thaw? Hope so. To 8 o'clock Mass. Read papers - Washed hair - Picked up Billie Newell at noon and on to Inn - Punkie Scott - Nancy Carroll Draper and the Tracy's for luncheon - very good time & food - took Billie home - had a nap - did Sunday crossword - didn't quite finish it.

1989 - Tuesday - 29° at 6 AM. Sun 7:17 - 4:55. Good winter day with a high wind. To Mass. I worked at the greenhouse, stopping for groceries enroute, and going to Dr Yanity mid morning to have new crowned molars drilled down. Home at 1 PM for lunch. Wes had moved logs from bog to road - too many as he was very stiff - ground was soft so pushing wheelbarrow was hard. I went to bank & Marcus after nap. Wes in shop and I did a little sewing and ironing.

1990 - Wednesday - 42° at 7 AM - Clouds but is to clear. Sun 7:17 - 4:55. Beautiful day - 58° in afternoon. To Grand Union for oatmeal and other groceries Bank - Reclamation. Took liquor, silver, table (metal) glasses to Tempanelli's for Saturday's party.
Took over two-mile walk after a nap. Wes did a little reading of The Raj - chased a raccoon from the suet. I did a little sewing. Quit early to shower & go to Billie Newell's at five - Mark & Millicent Sattler there

1991 - Thursday - 44° at 6 AM. - Sun 717 - 455.
Some sun/cloudy. To Mass. Prayed for peace in Gulf. Father Ed has been at Rectory - Father Medynski returning from vacation tonight. Did crossword. Listened to Gulf attack news - bombing continued - Iraq making very little return until at evening sent 12 Scud Missiles against Israel no chemicals - Minor injuries and damage - In morning we had car washed - to Recycling - picked up leaf blower from Youngs - Grand Union for oatmeal & bananas - Wes in shop - I cut out blouse & skirt. 

1992 - Friday - 14° at 6 AM. Sun 717-454
Snow flurries - cleared about noon - snow flurries again - clear at sunset. To Mass. Did crossword
I went to bank and Marcus. Patched crack in living room wall (again!) Ironed table cloth. We split wood - easy as frozen - brought it to garage.
Swept front walk and cleared snow from deck,
