January 26

1988 - Tuesday - 32° at 7 AM. What a snow scene! At least 7 inches - trees bent down - still  lightly snowing. Glad Garden Club meeting was cancelled.
Terrible snow to rake & shovel - heavy and wet, stuck to rakes and shovels -  Wes did driveway - I the paths. Free by afternoon except for the deck. Paper and mail were delivered. Temperature rose to 40°.
Bet scheduled to leave for Vero Beach - hope she got off.

1989 - Thursday - 30° at 7 AM. Light dusting of snow Overcast. Sun (not today) 711-5:06. Snowed lightly - turned to rain about 10 o'clock - rained lightly all day. Indoor work and hobbies. Wes in shop. I made an appointment Feb. 7th with Dr Horowitz for Eileen and me. Wrote Jule Lane. We wo[[?]] wool for my blue vest. I sewed a little - have to make a belt to finish blue crepe dress.

1990. Friday - 50° at 6 AM - Raining. Sun 712 - 506
Light rain all day - late afternoon brief snow flurries Temperature falling. Shop work - I made another cake to take to Mary tomorrow - first one tastes good but broken on top. To bank to deposit Polaris & CPC checks. Marcus for milk - Macy's to buy tie and socks for Wes.
After lunch & nap - Wes returned to shop - I started sewing pink cotton shirt. No walk account rain
We had gone to Mass in morning.

1991 - Saturday - 12° at 7 AM. Cloudy. Sun 712-505 Mostly cloudy - pale wintry sun.
Returned Wes' birthday shirt to Smith & Hawken - too big - Shopped for fish at Stop & Shop - very crowded store
Took a mile walk up Bogus - road not all clear of snow and ice but we like it better than Scoden.
Hobbies in afternoon
Phoned Joan & Bet (we will be in Bronxville tomorrow both well except for colds of Joan & Hooker 

1992 - Sunday - 20° at 6:30 - Overslept & hated to get out of bed. Sun 7:12-5:05
Light snow overnight but moon out now.
To 8 o'clock Mass. To Coggeshalls at 12:15 for one o'clock luncheon - Midge and Bill Arnold there also. Jon seemed greatly deteriorated - had a prostate operation in November - seems confused - sad.
Home at 5:15 in daylight.

January 27

1988 - Wednesday - 18° at 6 AM. Beautiful cold winter day. To Mass. House chores - then out to shovel snow. Wes opened turnaround - I cleared kitchen end of deck - very hard job as snow has frozen.
To bank and Waldbaum. Snow still clinging to bushes and trees - side roads passable but bumpy - Main roads better.

1989 - Friday - 35° at 7 AM - Cloudy. Sun 711-5:07
Cleared mid-morning - Not a bad day.
No Mass. Father in Florida on vacation.
House chores and hobbies - Took 2 mile walk.
Did crossword - hard.
To Sokols at 5:30 - drinks & dinner. Rosses - Sattlers - Mary Luke there. Home at 10:15

1990 - Saturday - 30° at 7 AM - Clear sky. Sun 711-507
Beautiful day - sunny & not too cold. Did crossword. Left at 10:15 for Tarrytown - picked up bottle of Gin for Mary at Millard - admired Eileen's newly painted "first level" - to Bronxville where Mary gave us a birthday luncheon - Eileen gave us bird hose guides - We look forward to spring
Home at 5:15 - still light - Wes was able to drive all the way.

1991 - Sunday - 26° at 6 AM - Sun 711-507. To Mass
Beautiful day - lucky for us as left for Tarrytown at 10 to pick up Eileen and on to Mary's in Bronxville for a birthday celebration. Mary gave Wes Father Hesburgh's Book - me a nightie - Eileen gave us a frying pan. Ginger and Antonia Fraser's mystery
Home at 5. Watched Super Bowl - Giants won over Buffalo Bills 20/19.

1991 - Monday - 15° at 7 AM - Sun 7:11-5:06
Wintery day - cold & Dreary. Took Vacuum upstairs and cleaned up rear storage room - dusting shelves after installation of new door. Called Jim Redmond of Castle Electric - may come end of week to reattach electric switches. Did a wash. To S & S bank and Marcus. Wes put a larger wire over suet as crows are stealing it when we go out. Did a little tax work. Day goes fast.
