February 11

1988 - Thursday - 20° at 7 AM - cloudy -  became not a bad winter day - mostly fair Washed - ironed - Wes in shop. Took our walk to Sunley's - I finished the seed/plant orders - tried to clear off the deck as snow predicted for tonight - couldn't break the ice except outside kitchen slider. Cupboard and bench delivered to Carolyn & Pete's from Eileen's & Phoned Joan to thank her for birthday paper in box with pencils - says she is okay.

1989 - Saturday - 22° at 7 AM. Partly cloudy. Sun 655-526 - Partly sunny. Milder in afternoon. To Bleckwehl's to let the dogs out - bank - Young's for birdfood and smoke alarm battery. Took a walk to Henley's - first in three days - slept nice & warm. After lunch Wes moved logs from big pile to edge of road. I worked on Metropolitan doctor bills.

1990 - Sunday - 29° at 6:30 - slept late for Sunday. Clear. Sun 655-525. Beautiful day - sunny in 40° - wonderful weather for February. To 8 o'clock Mass. Read papers in Solar - phoned Joan and Bit - We called Mary. Made out vegetable seed orders. Wrote check for College New Rochelle donation. Martini at noon - after a two mile walk. Wes cooked lambchop on grill which we moved to deck from garage. Worked on crossword from today's paper - tricky.

1991 - Monday - 27° at 7 AM - Partly cloudy. Sun 656 525 Fair day - windy. getting colder in afternoon - we have had beautiful mild days. Did crossword - Wes in shop. I cut forsythia, viburnum & spirea branches for forcing - soaked them in upstairs tub. We took a mile walk. Lunch in Solar. Nap. Wes went to Dr Monroe (nose spot) & Dr Rosenthal (callous on foot) I made an angel cake, corn bread - cleaned livingroom, set table for tomorrow. Filled birdfeeders - lots of birds - tree creeper - wren - loads of Finch - saw a Goldfinch - Cardinals come for evening food.

1992 - Tuesday - 26° at 6 AM. Dark. Sun 6:56-5:25 Cold, cloudy day - however some little sun and the temperature rose to 40°. To Mass. Did crossword. Wes to Dr. Yanity at 10:30 - filling only rough, not broken - good news - only good news for him during the day as he broke a drill - will have to ask Tibor to get it out of casting - Vargas in Florida until next week. I cut out white skirt and did a little sewing on it. We took a walk only to Allen's corner - cold and my ankle hurting

February 12

1988 - Friday - 30° at 6 AM - Snow & sleet - some rain - snow again at night. Wes raked the driveway early - good thing as when rain started the snow was wet and heavy. I pulled most of snow from Solar roof - shoveled path to birdfeeders. helped on driveway entrance. Helen postponed birthday luncheon until tomorrow - we were glad - we had a martini in the den [[crossed out]] den [[/crossed out]] Eileen, Mary, Bit & Carolyn phoned birthday greetings I worked on tax figures - Wes in shop

1989 - Sunday - 28° at 6:15 - Clear - Pink sky. Sun 654-527 To 8 o'clock Mass. Alec Ross' brother James died yesterday - their party today still on. I made cookies before leaving for Ross'es at 12:30. Wonderful party - 19 people in all - home at 4pm. Phoned Bit to thank her for soap. Joan and Kelly phoned here - I had tried to reach Joan to thank her for reknitting the angora vest I had given her - sent it with a pink turtleneck. Eileen phoned & so did Mary - a happy birthday for me.

1990 - Monday - 32° at 6 AM - Cloudy - NYC having snow. Sun 654-527. Cleared to a beautiful day - a birthday present. To Mass. I worked at Keeler Tavern - folding newsletter - 9:30/11 - Wes in shop. We left at 12 for The Elephant, Somers. Eileen took us to lunch - delicious - we drove through Mamanasco Lake area enroute home. nap. soup for supper. Joan - Mary - Carolyn and Kelly phoned birthday greetings. Kelly from Los Alamitos, New Mexico

1991 - Tuesday - 16° at 6 AM - Cold again. Sun 654-526 Beautiful cold day. To Mass. Wes set up a fire We prepared luncheon. Eileen here at 11 - with dogs who looked beautiful - Helen Ross came at 12:30.
Wes gave me a ceramic garden seat - beautiful color. Eileen brought a pretty basket with a yellow Primula. Had a very happy Birthday, lots of cards and Mary, Joan & Hooker and Bit phoned, Gizella brought over jam.

1992 - Wednesday - 14° at 7:15 - Fair - Sun 6:55-5:26 Wes had a perfume bottle at the breakfast table for my birthday! I opened Joan & Hooker's Shaker Pincushion.
Beautiful, clear day - very cold. To Minuteman Press to pick up stationery - S&S for bananas - Marcus for milk. To Ridgefield car wash - bought birthday cards at Copps Hill - to Helen Ross - she took us to lunch at Cooper's Station - good pasta - home at 3:15 after stopping at Caldor's for a battery for Wes' Timex watch - he is glad to have it going again. Nap - cleaned up some papers. Joan & Eileen phoned in evening
