Saturday -
1988 62° @ 6AM Cloudy - Came back to Ridgefield  (Guy stayed with Eileen) Mowed lawn. Gissela watered plants
Edith Mefferly picked up plants for Garden Club annual meeting. I did chores for Eileen. She has promise of help for garden - therapist came but has to contact Doctor for instructions on care. Walked dogs - digging Sweet Woodruff and one Shooting Star Eileen gave us, Eileen shared "I will be called John" on VCR. 

1989 - Sunday - Washington - Federated G.C. Tour - leaving day - to Bishop Gardens of National Cathedral- lovely walled garden - a stop at Behnke Nursery (mid) enroute home - bought Thaliechtrum aquilegifolium and Ligularia Desdemona - at Westport about 6:30 - had rained here - we had beautiful sunny days - very warm - home at 7:30 - grass high - trees all out. clematis beautiful - Pink Shell azaleas gone by. Eileen spent night - Phoned Holmdens - Hooker had bad day.

1990 - Monday - 46° at 6 AM. Raining - 6/10 by night. Miserable cold day. To Mass. Shopped after at Stop + Shop - gasoline - bank + Marcus. Home to prepare for visit of Eileen, Sally, Carolyn + Chelsea - for lunch - Chelsea almost walking - weighs 20 lbs and active. Cleaned up. Gizella returned from their visit to Gabriela and came for the mail. Nap. Found the 3.00. mistake in checkbook - did crossword. Brought in Mossplauts to Solar at night.

1991 - Tuesday - 44° at 6 AM - Cold - fair - warmed up quickly - beautiful day - warm sun - nice in shade. To Mass. Worked hard all day getting place in shape for tour tomorrow - Wes brought up leaf chips and we put them on perennial bed - We edged front section. To Marcus for milk before lunch. Wes continued cleaning up walks - all but one finished. I weeded the Primula in Well Flower Garden - swept steps in Rock Garden - Watered Wood Knoll and Piper area. 

1992 - Thursday. 46° at 6 AM. Cold night. Fair Warm day - drying wind - covered recent transplants. To Mass. New seats in Rectory Chapel - comfortable and with kneelers. but bulky. Wes started the chipper and did the leaf pile at the shed. I planted three tuberous begonias in white planted. Man from Brewster Machine shop came to look at Wes' shop for two friends, To Dr Beck at 2 pm - good report come back in 3 months - stopped for gasoline and Marcus for milk. Car gets very hot in sun.

1988 58° @ 6:30 AM Cloudy W to 8 AM Mass. Guy came up from Tarrytown in morning - returned @ 330 I had gone to 7:30 Church of Transfiguration - walked dogs - Eileen managing well with walker - ankle swells when she is on it too long. Fixed dinner Had planted the Sweet Woodruff and Shooting Star Eileen gave us - loads of weeds

1989 - Monday - home from Washington - beautiful day. Eileen left after breakfast - (dogs were fine) We spent day on ground - Wes edged - I cultivated put on some leaf mulch - cut grass which was very high - Shooting Stars beautiful - everything looks lush but lots of tree blossoms down - pool loaded. Gizella had taken good care of plants. I cancelled from trip to Montgomery Place tomorrow (Garden Club)

1990 - Tuesday - 46° at 6 AM - cloudy - cleared still cool. To Mass. 65/100 in rain gauge. Solar table was delivered - Wes put it together and used it for his luncheon. I went to RGC meeting at noon at Bobbie Longmire's - luncheon and talk by Fran Devlen (Zone II Horticulture) on plant exchange - home at 3:30. Wes had edged on North slope. We picked up Alex and Helen and went to Waccabue as guests of Sattlers - wonderful steak. Home 9:30

1991 - Wednesday - Garden Tour Day - Beautiful warm day - up to 85°. Raced around doing last minute chores. Only about 12 people from Stanford - Bartlett Arboretum. Kelly (visiting Carolyn) also came. Toured until noon - came at 10 o'clodk. No Garden Club members disappointedly. Had a Martini to celebrate at noon + a long nap. Watered perennial, shade + Joe's Garden. Walked about pulling weeds noticed in morning tour! Wes plant big stone at entrance to perennial garden. 

1992 - Friday - 52° at 6 AM. Fair To Mass. Father told us Jim White died. heart attack. Wes started up the Mighty-Mae and chipped leaves at the shed. A difficult job as loads of them and wet underneath. I cut grass. To Stop + Shop early account the holiday. I moved a yellow Hosta from house/shed path to Joe's Garden - moved the yellow grass to be near it. Very warm day - kept in shade.
